Developing the mobile app for BigBenta Marketplace was a real challenge and quite a difficult task as experienced by our mobile app developer, Xhape Solutions Inc. because of the integration of the four platforms in one site or app. The app took a long time to develop because of the complexity of its design, and up to know tweaks are being done but before the end of February, BigBenta Marketplace app will be released in its full and perfect version. Currently on its beta launch, it features only the online store while the other platforms namely Services, Prime, and Classified Ads will be available before the end of the month.
Despite having a mobile-responsive site, BigBenta CEO Charlie Fong, said that it was still necessary to launch an app because of the convenience that it offers to users. And because majority of mobile users are on android, this became the priority for the company.
According to CIRPs research, Android accounted for 67% of US phone activations from April –June 2017, up from 63% for the same period in the previous year. For the local market, it is easy to see that 8 out of 10 smartphone users are on Android, primarily due to the availability of cheaper android phones in the market. The launch of the IOS app is slated towards middle of the year.
By launching an app, BigBenta wants to deliver more convenience to its members and users who access the site from their mobile devices. Versus a year ago when only 60% account for total mobile users, now, the figure is up to 90%. As a matter of fact, it is predicted that by 2019, the number of mobile phone users will reach 5 billion. By 2016, it is estimated that 62% of the wold population will own a mobile phone.
